Remember these names, because history tells us that the competition of the marketplace will take its toll on some of these companies.  At times throughout the last 50 years, companies like Bethlehem Steel, General Motors, Polaroid, Westinghouse, Worldcom, AIG, and Fannie Mae highlighted such a list.  Think how far they've fallen...there is no assurance that ANY of today's "blue chips" will thrive in the future, much less survive.  A robust plan of attack based on evidence rather than allegiance is necessary to prevent riding a favorite name into the dustbin of history.
